Apache 41 build

The apache is coming along slowly but surely. The 2 halves so now its 1 full hull instead of 2 half’s. I had them split to make glassing the inside easier. Since most of the glass work is done on the inside its time to move on to the outside and get that sanded and finished. When putting in the Coosa transom the PLA bent under the load of the clamps holding it on to the back. The transom received layers of glass to bring the transom back to level. The Coosa stringers are being shaped and will be glassed in much later in the build. I will try to mock up some Coosa stringers for the front of the hull to reinforce it. I will probably start ordering the motor mounts and rudder and stingers once the outside is finished and painted.

Apache 41 receives 2nd layer of fiberglass. The strength of the hull is exceeding expectations. The Coosa stringers have been shaped and are ready for glassing. The next step would be to glass the inside of the rear piece and the front piece. This will be the hardest part because of rib that was printed inside the front of the hull making laying glass a bit of a chore but once its done it the hull can be fully glued together and the next and final layers of glass can be layed before a lot of sanding and filler is added. After that either gelcoat with wax or a primer paint and acrylic paint.
